- Formula = (((% of firms with positive responses - % of firms with negative responses) * 100) + 100) / 2
- 50 is the baseline; a value of 50 indicates a neutral sentiment.
A score above 50 signifies optimism regarding current export performance among exporting industries.
A score below 50 indicates pessimism.
Statistical Timeframe:
Data is collected from the eve of the 2024 U.S. Presidential election until one month after its end.
The index will be updated regularly thereafter, or adjusted in response to significant political and economic events.
Note:
The charts released in the first phase will be represented by pie charts and will not be calculated as an index separately.
Taiwanese exporters maintain a cautious stance amid an uncertain external trade environment, reflecting a generally reserved outlook.
However, when compared to the Exporters Expectations Index, which shows a notably more optimistic reading, there are signs of improving sentiment and potential optimism for the future.
